Press In
I know a gentleman who is full of good ideas. I've really never known someone quite like him. He'll get an idea and do all the groundwork to get his idea off the ground. I've also noticed this about him. He comes to a complete stop when he hits his first obstacle. He will totally give up on all his plans and dreams because of that one obstacle.
Pressing toward a goal indicates there is resistance. It's not easy to keep pressing when everything in you shouts, "This isn't going to work!” I remember setting a production goal years ago – I would get to a certain point and couldn't go any further. I kept pushing towards that goal but just couldn't get there. Then one day I broke that barrier. That obstacle that stopped me for so long wasn't an obstacle anymore. That number that eluded me for so long became the new norm.
Pressing into the things God has for you requires work. It requires sacrifice, a willingness to let go of the things holding you back. It requires a commitment to see it through to the end. Personally, I want to keep pressing until I hear those words, "Well done good and faithful servant".
