Specific Place in the Body

Everyone has a specific place in the body of Christ, the church. The church isn't a building, although it meets in a building. You and I, together with other believers, are the church. Most people worship where they do because that's what they've always done. Few people ask God where He wants them.

There was a time when we became dissatisfied with the way we were going in our worship. We were part of a home fellowship at the time, and I was really having trouble with it. For the first time in our lives, we wound up not going to church. This was definitely a challenge, and we did try some churches, but God kept saying, "not here." The best I can describe it is God took us out to bring us back in. The place He had for us hadn't formed yet, so we just waited.

We have been a part of the body we are in since it started 30 years ago. We know it's where God set us. When God places you somewhere, it's a two-way street. You receive from that body, but you also have something to give. God, in His wisdom, has given you some gifts that the body needs to function properly.
