The Day of Salvation
This verse was brought forward from Isaiah 49:8 with one key exception. Isaiah 49:8 says, "an acceptable time," and 2 Corinthians says, "In THE acceptable time." See the difference? Isaiah is in the future tense, and 2 Corinthians is written in the present tense.
Under the old covenant, there were certain times and specific places where God would hear you. In the new covenant, God is available 24/7/365. We have permanent, unlimited access to the throne of God. Under the old covenant, there was no salvation because there was no forgiveness of sin. In the new covenant, we have complete forgiveness of sin because of Jesus.
Every day is the day of salvation for us. In spite of all that is going on today in the world, there has never been a better time to be alive! We are living in the time the prophets of old could only write about. Believe it or not, they all wanted to be us!
