Wait by Serving

"But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:31

How do you 'wait on the Lord'? There are people I have met who won't do anything unless they hear from God first. Sad to say, these same people don't do much because they are 'waiting'.

I always think of wait staff in a restaurant. They are 'waiting' by serving. I can pretty much guarantee that if you went out to eat somewhere, and the wait staff was just 'waiting' and not serving, you'd walk out. Waiting people are active people. They are looking for ways to serve.

Go back and read this verse again. Notice that the person whose waiting on the Lord is walking and running. They are doing stuff! They aren't living a sedentary life. They have been renewed in strength to keep on going and keep on doing!
