Working Through Challenges
I really don't know how I would handle a lion on the loose. It's nothing I can relate to. We have the occasional mountain lion running loose, but as a general rule, we don't bother each other.
When Solomon wrote this proverb, contending with lions was very common. Instead of figuring out how to work around this inconvenience, this guy let the circumstances dictate the day. The lazy man says, "Things aren't working right today, I'll try again tomorrow."
Learning how to work through challenges is a life skill worth attaining. I can almost guarantee that this guy has neighbors who figured out how to get their jobs done when this guy couldn't figure out how to get started.
