Speaking to Your Problems

Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5

Ever have thoughts that don't line up with what the Bible says? I think it is safe to say we all have. We come across things every day that are designed to change our focus from the answer to the problem. You may have a health issue that's not giving up or perhaps a financial issue that is looming over your head. As long as we are focused on our needs, the word of God becomes ineffective.

I was working in the woods one day when my leg started to hurt. It started out as a little pain but quickly grew into a major problem. In a matter of moments, I couldn't put weight on that leg. I sat down on a log to rest my leg but it just kept getting worse. I had decided that going home was my only option. I started reviewing my day carefully going over everything. I came to the conclusion that I didn't do anything, it just started hurting. My leg was arguing against what the Bible said. That did it for me! I took the battle to the spirit realm reciting scripture after scripture and building myself up in faith. Pretty soon I just looked at my leg, pointed my finger at it, and declared that there was nothing wrong with it.

In boldness, I told my leg there was nothing wrong with it so "knock it off". The pain left immediately. What happened? That pain was exalting itself against the knowledge of God. I took that thought captive to the obedience of Christ. What do you do when you don't see the problem going away? You keep at it until you do!
