No Fear of Death

O death, where is your sting? 1 Corinthians 15:55a

The Bible mentions a sting of death, a smell of death, and a taste of death. The good news is that those who have made Jesus their Lord do not experience any of those things. For us, death is simply a transition from the natural realm to the spiritual realm.

While going through cancer treatment, I experienced this transition. I had taken a couple of drugs prescribed by different doctors that didn't go well together. In fact, our research led to the discovery that these two drugs, when taken together, produce death. I functioned in the natural, running errands while feeling my spirit beginning to leave my body. This might be kind of confusing because I have never found an adequate way to express this experience. I could feel my spirit start to leave and come back and this kept going on through much of the day. There was no feeling of fear, just peace.

Long story short, I was supposed to leave that day, but the prayers of dear people literally around the world kept me from going. Never underestimate the power of your prayers! Thank you Jesus, for tasting and feeling death so we never do.
