Patience vs Waiting
That you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. Hebrews 6:12
Every promise contained in the Bible is available to each one of us. Why do some people see those promises alive for them while other people don't see anything happen? The first group is exercising patience while the second group is waiting. Patience isn't waiting for something to happen, it's doing what needs to be done to make sure it happens.
We've all witnessed someone skilled in playing music and we want to be as good as them. We see the skill they have, the applause they get, and the admiration they receive and we see ourselves being that same way. What we don't see is the 10,000 hours of practice when no one was watching, and all the rejections before the 'big break' came.
There is always work to be done when standing in faith. God will always hold up His end of the equation, but He expects us to do our part, too.
