Against All Logic

Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the Lord blessed him. Genesis 26:12

I like to revisit verses I have done in the past because going there once is not enough to get everything contained in that verse.

We don't have a clear understanding of famine today. In a famine, nothing grows. Like the dust bowl of the 1930's, topsoil has blown away. Naturally speaking, staying put defied logic. People of that time were nomads moving from place to place. Isaac was operating under a higher authority, the connection with God passed down from his father, Abraham. God gave instructions to Isaac to stay put and plant a crop.

There are times when we will receive specific instructions from our Heavenly Father that go against all logic. He may instruct you to give money away when you don't know how you are going to eat. Know this, God isn't trying to take things from you, He's wanting to get them to you. God wanted to take Isaac to a new level financially, and that would require his obedience!
