The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song, I will praise Him. Psalm 28:7

Psalm 28 is about David rejoicing over answered prayer. Do you rejoice over answered prayer in your life? Remembering what God has done – how He has shown His faithfulness to you, will strengthen your trust in Him.

Have you ever taken the time to write down your answered prayers and blessings in your life? We often write what we are thankful for, but I think it is important to recognize the answered prayers and rejoice over them.

Psalms are full of songs to the Lord as David expressed his love and devotion to God. Praise and worship time at church should be more than just singing some songs. It is a way that God gave us to express our hearts toward Him. Music and songs touch the soul unlike anything else.

We have so many tremendous praise and worship songs and artists gifted with writing and performing songs of adoration to God. They and their songs are a gift to the body of Christ. Use their talents to grow deeper in your faith and relationship with Jesus. During worship time, keep your focus on Jesus and not on people. Don’t let your mind wander to things you need to do or whatnot. But allow yourself to really rejoice and to worship God.

King David wasn’t afraid to express his worship to God. He danced and rejoiced in the street when the ark of the covenant was brought in. Don’t be afraid to lift your hands in worship and let yourself be swept up in the presence of God. The Bible says that God inhabits the praises of His people. In other words, He shows up!

Worship Him, rejoice over Him for the many ways He has blessed your life today.

Lord, I rejoice in You today. May my worship to you be a way to thank you and enjoy Your presence today.
