These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. John 16:33
People are looking, searching, longing for peace. They look to exercise, work, sex, alcohol, and drugs to find some sort of escape from the craziness of this world and their lives. We can do things to have the short-term feeling of peace, but the problem is that peace is more than a feeling. The sense of peace doesn’t last beyond the experience that gave that feeling.
True peace is only found when you put your trust in Jesus. Peace doesn’t mean that things don’t happen to you. We live in a broken world, and as this verse says, you will have tribulation in the world. But praise God; He doesn’t leave us without hope. He says, “Be of good cheer!” Why can you be of good cheer? Because Jesus, the Prince of Peace, already got your victory. He overcame the ugly stuff in the world.
You will never know peace like the sweet peace of being found in Jesus. It doesn’t matter what the world throws at you as long as you are in Jesus. It doesn’t matter what the news people tell you when you are in Jesus. It doesn’t matter what lousy report you receive when living and abiding in Jesus Christ.
You don’t have to be afraid when you put your trust in Jesus. How do you abide in Jesus? Read His Word and apply it to your life by speaking it out. I have created the Renew Digital Magazine to help you stay in Jesus. When you speak the Word of God, you will activate His power and His peace into your life.
Dear Lord, I speak your truth over my life and situation and find the peace that only you can provide. Thank you for overcoming the world. Amen.
