Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Psalm 62:8
Do you have someone in your life that you can pour your heart out to? Someone who doesn’t judge you but loves you unconditionally? To have someone like that in your life is invaluable. I have been blessed to have several people like that in my life. I am thankful for the trust that has been built.
On the flip side, have you ever confided in someone to have them break that trust and share it with someone else? Middle school is notorious for this kind of breach of trust. The feeling of betrayal is terrible. Most of us have been in that situation at one time or another. As a result, maybe we have built some walls around our hearts and are careful with whom we confide.
That is why getting to know God is so important. When you know Him, you realize you can trust Him. However, God is more than someone whom you can confide in. When you pour your heart out AND leave your concerns at His feet, He can turn your situation around for good. God is more than a listening ear. He cares about you and has solutions as well.
Next time you need to vent or share your heart with someone, turn to Jesus. You can trust Him to hear you and to guide you into the best solution.
Dear Lord, thank you for being a refuge for me, someone to pour my heart out to. Thank you for listening to me and caring for me. Amen
