He is Mindful of You
But one testified in a certain place, saying: “What is man that You are mindful of him, Or the son of man that You take care of him? Hebrews 2:6
Jesus’ death and resurrection wasn’t for Him; it was for us. He was mindful of you and me and did what was needed for us to be taken care of in every way. He cares for us by loving us and providing a way to heaven – let alone a better life here on earth.
If you have children, you understand that part of caring, loving, and being mindful of them is providing for their needs. In fact, children get taken away from parents who don’t care for and provide for their children. Yet, somehow many Christians believe that God doesn’t provide for us here on earth, that it’s only for the sweet by and by.
I have no doubt that heaven is going to be amazing! But Jesus went to the cross for us to live victorious lives now. What if I only provided for my children when they were home? Say we went out to dinner somewhere and ordered food, the children even ordered the meals they wanted, but when the food comes, you tell them they can’t have it now, they have to wait till they get home.
If your plan all along was to get food and eat it at home, that would be just fine. But if you went for a sit-down meal and let your children sit and watch you eat, you would be considered a terrible and cruel parent.
In the same regard, Jesus paid for a full meal of provision for you. He’s not going to partake of the blessings of the cross and leave us just waiting till heaven. No, He wants us to experience them now, today, right where you are! The promises of God are for us today.
Remember that God is mindful of you and cares about you. He will provide for you today, tomorrow, and throughout eternity.
Father, thank you for being mindful of me and sending Jesus to provide everything I need for this life. Amen.
