Supplied and Multiplied
Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness. 2 Corinthians 9:10
God is so good! He has provided everything we could ever want or need. He doesn’t expect us to give what we don’t have; therefore, He supplies our seed so that we have something to give. Not only that, but He then multiplies the seed you have sown AND increases the fruit of righteousness (fruit of the Spirit) inside of you. In other words, He causes you to increase both physically with your finances and spiritually.
Sowing into the Kingdom of God through tithes and offerings is the key to opening the flow of God’s goodness in our lives. Like Paul said in Philippians 4, he sought the fruit that would abound to those who were sowing into his ministry. He understood what would happen when people sowed their finances into the Kingdom of God through his ministry.
So, where should we sow? First, we are to sow where we are getting fed – our spiritual home. For most of us, that is your local church. In addition to tithing, be sensitive to the Spirit to give to other places. We should always have an ear to the Holy Spirit and a heart full of compassion to give where God would have us give.
You can also get specific with your seed. Have you believed God for something specific? If so, ask Him where to sow a seed for it. For example, when I wanted to start getting healthy, I started sowing financial seed into Faithful Workouts, a Christian health site and ministry (which I highly recommend). I know I have increased in my strength and health because of it.
Recognize that God has given you a seed. He has blessed us with so much. The least we can do is honor Him with what He has given us.
Dear Lord, I thank you for the job and opportunities (my seed) that you have provided to meet my needs. Help me be faithful with that seed and give to honor You. Amen.
