Will You Obey?
And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God. Deuteronomy 28:2
The provisions and blessings of God are so vast, but one of the common denominators is how to have them manifest in your life. This verse says, "because you obey the voice of the Lord your God." Obedience to God will always put us in the will of God, which puts us in the provision of God.
Sure, there are blessings from just being a child of God, but God has so much more for us when we are obedient to be where He wants us to be and do what He has called us to do. There is grace for the place that God has intended for you. You could say it this way, God "pays the bill" or provides for what He has told you to do.
God wanted to bless the children of Israel abundantly above what they could ask or think. Yes, He cared for their needs while they were in the wilderness, but the place He had for them to go was the Promise Land. There would be battles to fight and cities to conquer to get to where God was taking them.
In your life, God has a "promised land" waiting for you as well. He has a place of provision and blessing, but to get there will take faith in God and obedience. If you want the best that God has for you, you're going to have to leave your comfort zone. You might have to stretch your abilities and skills. Perhaps you will need to move to a new place. Whatever the case, God is waiting for your faith in Him and your obedience to His Word.
Has God told you to do something that you've been dragging your feet? We give God many excuses as to why we can't follow through. Have you heard any of these excuses? "If only I was younger, if only I lived somewhere else, or if only I had more money." God has heard every excuse in the book. He's not interested in hearing your reasons why you can't do it. He's interested in hearing your faith. When you step out in faith, believing God and His Word, He will meet you with provision every step of the way.
Dear Lord, help me step out of my comfort zone and obey your Word today. Amen.
