Trust God

Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God (I will praise His word), In God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me? Psalm 56:3-4

Being courageous comes down to having your complete trust in God. No matter what our feelings say, we can have courage because of God in our lives. He is always there, but do you trust He is there for you? Sometimes it’s easier to believe that God will be there for someone else, but our confidence wavers when it comes to ourselves.

We often judge God’s faithfulness to us depending on whether we deserve it. Well, let me make that one really easy for you – you don’t deserve God’s goodness in your life. None of us do. We fall short of the mark every single day. I’m thankful that God’s goodness to me doesn’t depend on what I have done but on what Jesus did.

Jesus took all of the sins we have ever committed and will commit upon Him at the cross. He paid the price with His blood, going to hell. Therefore, through Jesus, we are MADE the righteousness of God. We can’t become righteous because God has already made us righteous through Jesus.

Therefore, because God loved me so much to send His only Son to die for me, I owe Him to put my whole trust in Him. He will never do anything to harm me, only to give me abundant life. When things in this world happen that can make me afraid, I trust God to see me through. There is nothing anyone can do to me to separate me from God’s love and care. Don’t fear what you are going through, but put your complete trust in God, and He will see you through.

Dear Lord, help me put my complete trust in you and not be afraid of what is going on in the world. Amen.
