God's Will to Heal

Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness – by whose stripes you were healed. 1 Peter 2:24

This is one of my go-to verses for healing. Whenever I'm sick, I quote this verse. Notice the word, were. It says you were healed, which means you are healed. Many people debate whether healing is for today or not. However, it is included in the whole package of salvation. Jesus came to heal our spirit, soul, and body. Our God is complete and whole. He doesn't leave anything out!

Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. This means that if He healed while He was on earth, He is still in the healing business now! I have personally benefited from the healing power of God in my own life and have seen it in others' lives too many times to count. I have witnessed miraculous healings and healings that took years with the help of medicine and surgeries.

If you need God's healing touch, believe that it is His will to heal you. There isn't one person in the Bible that didn't get healed when they came believing in Him. In fact, one of the only times recorded when Jesus didn't perform many miracles was when He was in His own country. The scripture doesn't say that He didn't want to heal. It said He couldn't because of their unbelief in Who He was (Mark 6:1-6).

God's will is for you to be healed as He sent Jesus to pay the price for your healing. Like salvation, you don't have to do anything for this gift but believe it and receive His healing power in your life today!

Dear Lord, thank you for the promise of healing. I receive your healing power in my life, and thank You for making me whole – spirit, soul, and body. Amen.
