Long Life
With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation. Psalms 91:16
This scripture has a special sentiment for me. It was one of my dad's verses that he clung to when battling cancer. It is a truth that overcomes any circumstance. Revelation 12:11 says, "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death." Did you catch that? They overcame by the blood of Jesus AND their own testimony or words.
Do you believe that God wants to satisfy you with long life? You can put your name into the verse. "With long life I will satisfy ____." Now turn it and confess, "God will satisfy me with long life!" You might have a lot of doubts if that is true or not. However, don't negate the gospel's truth because of your situation.
That is what faith does – it brings the unseen into reality. Hebrews 11:1 says, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." It comes down to this question. Do you believe and trust your reality more than you trust God? I know that question hurts, but it's something we all need to reflect on in different areas of our lives.
If you find that your faith is challenged, spend time looking up other scriptures on life and health. What you will find in the scriptures will build your faith. Remember, faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17). Trust God at His Word and believe Him for a long and satisfying life!
Dear Lord, thank You for your precious promises for me in Your Word. Your Word says that with long life, You will satisfy me, so I receive it and thank You for it in Jesus' name. Amen.
