Saying the Right Words

"Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer." Psalm 19:14

How often do we speak without thinking about what we are saying? We use words for communication most of the time without thinking about them. Well, I can tell you that God thinks about them. In fact, Matthew 12:36 says that God keeps track of every word each of us has ever spoken. I don't know about you, but I find that mind-boggling and more than a little troubling all at the same time! Most of the time, I can't remember what I said five minutes ago.

One of the cool things that happens when we become a new creation is our word slate is wiped clean. There are two things I do to help me say the right words. First, I don't speak lots of words. Secondly, I go over my conversations and make corrections if needed. I ask forgiveness if that is needed. My personal goal is to get to heaven with no strikes against me in this department!
