Pressures of Life
"So I said, "Oh, that I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and be at rest." Psalm 55:6
Have the pressures of life just gotten the best of you sometimes? I don't know about you, but there have been times when I just wanted to get away from everything. I find bird-watching fun. You see them have fights here, so they fly over there. I'm pretty sure that there is no better than here, but we like to think it is.
King David had the very same thoughts. Life got to him sometimes, and the thought of just getting away somewhere where no one could find him was fun to think about. Running away from our problems, as attractive as that is, is not the answer. It doesn't solve anything; it just postpones what we are avoiding.
The answer lies in our total surrender to God's way of doing things and looking to Jesus, the author, and finisher of our faith. (Hebrews 12:2)
