Cant Go Faster Than Your Slowest Ship

"Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the faint hearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all." 1 Thessalonians 5:14

The body of Christ is made up of people from all walks of life, backgrounds, and different levels of maturity in the faith. We tend to forget that we are on this journey together.

I attended a church where these two young men also attended. Every Sunday, without fail, the alarms on their watches would go off right at noon. They would set them in hopes the pastor would hear and cut his sermon short. It never worked, but it was annoying, and unfortunately, their actions were never dealt with.

One of the few things I still remember about US history from high school is that a convoy of ships can't go any faster than the slowest ship. Talk about a random memory! But the truth is, as the body of Christ, one of our main jobs is to make sure no one is left behind. We are to uphold the weak, comfort the hurting, and encourage the body to move forward.

In the words of that great philosopher Red Green, "Remember, I'm pulling for you! We're all in this together!"
