Demanding Talents

"Nor did we seek glory from men, either from you or from others, when we might have made demands as apostles of Christ." 1 Thessalonians 2:6

There are some members of the Christian community that feel they should get goods and services from other members of the body for free. Here's the thing, we all should bless other members of the body with our gifts and talents, but it's not for others to take.

One of my talents is falling trees. It's also how I made a living for years. I enjoyed helping people with problem trees. I was asked by the pastor of another church body to help out members of his church. I knew they were going through stuff financially, and I was glad to help them. I eliminated the tree they wanted gone. I took it out, and then they wanted 4 more trees gone. It turned out they were kind of demanding, and I could feel my joy slipping.

Remember the verse doing things as unto the Lord? I got to put that into practice in a big way.
