Doers not Hearers
Picture two people sitting side by side in church. Both have their Bibles open and are listening intently to the sermon. Both of them are faithful in church attendance. From outside appearances, these two people look exactly the same. Here is where the similarities end. One person is a doer of the word, while the other one is a hearer. The doer puts their faith to work. The other one says, "I tried that faith stuff and it doesn't work!"
I hear too many people say they'll try. A doer doesn't try; they do. Being a doer doesn't mean you will always be successful. There are times of trial and error.
When I was learning to ride a bike, I had to learn how to balance. It didn't take too many falls before I could ride. Stopping was a whole different matter. I couldn't stop. We had a hedge next to our house that I would ride into to stop. Getting scratched up was a great incentive to learn how to brake! Don't worry about getting scratched up spiritually.
Being a doer means you are a learner, so keep learning.
