Easily Deceived

There are people who dearly love God but expect Him to do everything for them. This is how easy it is to deceive yourself.

Deceived people are pretty easy to locate. They are the ones who seem to go from one crisis to another, always wondering why God isn't helping them. They are the ones saying, "Why did God let this happen?" These are the people who hear the word but don't do the word. Sometimes, this is due to laziness, but mostly, it's due to not being taught how to apply the word to their particular situation.

I feel for the guy in this verse because he may not have been taught how to use the word. He may have honestly felt he was doing everything right until everything he worked for was lost, and then he probably blamed God for not being there when He was needed. More at another time.
