Firm Foundation
A key question to ask yourself is, "what is my foundation?" A good, solid foundation makes a solid structure. If you take the time to look up this scripture, this whole discourse, from verses 10 down to 15, follows the materials to build out of and where they will take you.
The materials mentioned are gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, and straw. According to these verses, our works will be tried by fire when we leave this world. Fire refines precious metals but burns up flammable materials.
Personally, I don't want to lose out on all that God has for me because I built with the wrong materials. Whatever winds of doctrine come our way, just stay close to Jesus and the truth of His word. Do that, and you will be hard to be led astray.
