God in You

Contrary to common belief, peace doesn't come from being surrounded by positive circumstances. That's never going to happen. Peace comes from the inside of us.

Jesus and His disciples were in a terrible storm crossing the Sea of Galilee. This storm caused fear in the disciples, but Jesus was fast asleep. What was the difference? The disciples were focused on the outside circumstances. Jesus was focused on God.

That focus allowed Jesus not to be subject to what was going on around Him. Because God was so real in Him, this allowed Jesus to change the circumstances around Him. Jesus didn't calm the storm because He was the Son of God; he calmed the storm because God was in Him.

The more God you have in you, the less outside circumstances will control you. When I was being prepped for my last surgery, I got this picture on the inside of me. I had a vision of the operating room. I saw myself on the table surrounded by the surgical team. Also, there were huge angels assisting the doctors, and the angels were dressed in scrubs. I went to sleep laughing at this scene. This was the hardest surgery I went through, but it was the easiest recovery I ever had. The difference was my mind being focused on what God was doing and not what was happening.
