Meeting God Where He Is

Here's where people miss it with God. They expect Him to honor and perform what they say. Nowhere in the Bible will you find any evidence that God has to honor what you say. He does watch over and back up what He said. This is why it is important to speak the Word instead of speaking your words. This goes right along with meeting God where He is.

Too often, we expect God to be where we are at. This is definitely true for the person coming to God for the first time. God will meet you wherever you are to bring you to Himself. However, as we mature in the faith, there is a shift that takes place.

I wasn't taught this lesson growing up, and too many times, my expectation was that God would always meet me on my terms. I was asking the wrong questions. Instead of asking, "What's wrong with me?" I was questioning God's loyalty to me.

I hear people say this all the time, especially after a tragedy. You hear "Where was God?" when the real question is, "Where were you"?
