Want and Needs

"And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19

This verse is a stumbling block to many Christians. For some reason, they have it in their heads that this verse says very plainly that God supplies our needs, not our wants. I just have to shake my head sometimes.

First off, who is in charge of the wants/needs department? One person's want maybe someone else's need. Who is deciding that, and why?

Several years ago, a well-known Christian financial guru built a gorgeous home. He built it using biblical principles that are available to anyone who will study and apply them. I was totally amazed at the number of people who were upset by this. The comments leveled against him were beyond comprehension. I don't know to this day why so many people are against someone else's success.

Think about this one, when God paves a street, He uses solid gold! Do you really think God is offended by our success when we use His principles? If you are, perhaps you should do a little self-examination and find out where your spirit of envy is coming from.
