My Gold Standard
There are different kinds of wisdom, and honestly, I don't know how many there are. There are 3 mentioned in this verse: the wisdom of God, the wisdom of this world, and the wisdom of the rulers of this age. Notice that Paul reserved the wisdom of God to those who could handle it. Not every Christian is able to understand the wisdom of God.
I was talking to a dear saint the other day, and our conversation went to global warming. He believed totally in it, and I, not so much. I really don't know where everyone stands on this issue, but to me, this is not an issue. When God created the earth, He calculated everything needed to get it to the very last day and created the atmosphere to handle our stupidity.
One of our jobs is to take care of what God provided, and we need to be good stewards of our environment. Here is my rule of thumb. If some people are profiting at the expense of other people, something is wrong. We see the wisdom of this age, along with the wisdom of rulers, combining to contradict the wisdom of God.
The word of God(His wisdom) is my gold standard for deciding what is right and what is not. You need to make your own conclusions, but let God's wisdom rule in all things.
