Transition from Hearer to Doer
Every so often, words will start rolling through me. I know it's part of a verse, but I don't know exactly what verse it is. This is the case today. Once I found the verse, the words flowing through me started coming into focus.
Up to this point, I was a hearer of the word but not a doer. When I started to write down those thoughts to pass along, I became a doer of the word. Now, I'm passing this verse to you, and you have become a hearer of this word, which is great. But you haven't become a doer of this word until you apply it and start living it. That's what makes a doer of the word- living that word out in the different areas of your life.
Okay, true confession time. There are times when I hear the word and don't apply it. Those are the times the word does me no good at all. As much as possible, I think of a verse that applies to what I'm doing at the time. This is the kind of activity that makes a doer of the word.
